UP TO 11 CARS = 1 HEAT

12 TO 23 CARS = 2 HEATS

24 + CARS = 3 HEATS

.

HANDICAP SYSTEMPOINTS HANDICAP # = POINTS / RACE EVENTS RUN

Wiscasset Speedway utilizes a Handicap System to line up competitors for heat race competition. A driver’s Handicap # shall be his/her total of Lineup Points divided by the number of Race Events they have run.

Example:

Driver A has accumulated 130 lineup points while racing in 5 race events = 26.00

Driver B has accumulated 150 lineup points while racing in 3 race events = 50.00

Driver C has accumulated 126 lineup points while racing in 4 race events = 31.50

.

LINEUP POINTS = driver champ points PLUS any additional contingency lineup points added for the following reasons :

  1.  62 lineup points will be assigned to a driver for each event disqualification that they are assessed during the season.
  2.  should a driver run their assigned heat race but then do not compete in their assigned feature race (resulting in 0 champ points accumulated in the feature), they will be assigned lineup points for that event totaling 2 points less than the last place car in that particular feature race.
  3.  Contingency Lineup Points are only used for lineup and handicapping purposes and are NOT included in a driver’s Championship Point total.

.
