THURLOW’S CAR & TRUCK SERVICE OF WINDHAM TO SPONSOR 2024 BOSS HOGG 150
The annual Northeast Motorsports Expo typically breaks the monotony of the winter off-season with the chance for racers and fans to gather and set their sites on the upcoming season. Every year the show produces noteworthy breaking news of events and schedules to look forward to. At this year’s show, held January 12th -14th, Wiscasset Speedway broke the news of a new sponsor for the 2024 Boss Hogg 150 Pro Stock race on Labor Day weekend. Longtime racers John Thurlow and his son JT Thurlow announced that their family business, Thurlow’s Car & Truck Service of Windham, had signed on to be the presenting sponsor for Wiscasset’s biggest race of the season. In making the announcement, track promoter Ken Minott also revealed that through the new sponsorship deal, the 2024 Boss Hogg 150 will increase the winner’s share of the purse to $15,000. The Boss Hogg 150 was a race created by former track owner and Hall of Famer “Boss Hogg” Dave St Clair. While the race went away after several years, current owners Richard & Vanessa Jordan resurrected the race and have steadily grown it into one of the premier Pro Stock / SLM races in the northeast. The new partnership with Thurlow’s Car & Truck Service now takes the race to another level moving forward.
JOHN THURLOW (owner of Thurlow’s Car & Truck Service) “Thurlow’s Car & Truck Service of Windham is excited to be the sponsor of the Boss Hogg 150. We’ve been in business for 38 years, primarily doing truck & trailer repair. I’ve always been a racer, car owner, and sponsor. My company decided to step into sponsoring a race, and we couldn’t be more excited to be supporting Wiscasset’s biggest race. I want to thank Richard & Vanessa Jordan for welcoming us to Wiscasset Speedway.”
MAX COOKSON (defending Boss Hogg 150 champion) “Super awesome JT and John stepped up to the plate to make the Boss Hogg 150 even bigger this year, hope others can follow in their footsteps. Looking forward to getting back there in early September and defending our win!”
JOSH ST CLAIR (2023 Wiscasset Pro Stock champion) “JT joining us at Wiscasset is exactly what we need, good cars building a good field. Hearing the Thurlows will be boosting the purse to 15k is awesome too! Big money brings big car counts. Wiscasset is like my second home and seeing car counts growing and people like the Thurlows willing to put up that kind of money just shows Wiscasset is doing everything right. Seeing the Jordans and Team Wiscasset not sitting idle and continue to improve is why this race grows year after year. I’m ready to race and see what 2024 holds.”
The 2024 Boss Hogg 150 will happen on Sunday, September 1st as part of Wiscasset’s Labor Day Weekend doubleheader. The Sunday program will once again also feature the NEMA Midgets & NEMA Lites, as well as a special 30-lap race for the Portland Glass Strictly Streets.
