After another unfortunate rainout last weekend, Wiscasset Speedway was able to get the ball rolling again on Saturday with an action-packed group 2 program featuring the T&L Automotive Modifieds, Portland Glass Strictly Streets, Dale’s Cash Fuel Roadrunners and the visiting Wicked Good Vintage Racers.

The Modifieds were the highlight division of the night, participating in double features to make up for some of the lost races this season. Zach Bowie made a bold 3-wide move in the early laps of the first feature, catapulting to the lead. He maintained position until a mid-race caution, where the front 2 rows were swapped following a botched restart. Reed Reno briefly took over the lead, but Bowie reclaimed the top spot with 5 laps to go and never looked back, scoring the victory. Chuck Colby and Reed Reno rounded out the podium.

Adam Chadbourne hopped out to the early lead in the second feature while Zach Bowie and Reed Reno filed in behind him. Chuck Colby was gaining ground as the laps wound down, knocking on Reno’s door for third on lap 13. He took over the spot just two laps later, then setting his sights on Bowie. Colby had successfully reeled in Bowie with 10 laps to go, overtaking the runner-up spot. He was unable to catch Adam Chadbourne, who picked up the victory. Zach Bowie followed, completing the top 3.

Dan Trask held the early advantage over Ray Dinsmore in the Strictly Street feature. Meanwhile, drivers were 3-wide for third behind them, with Joe Harriman claiming the spot. Harriman continued his pursuit to the front in the laps that followed, powering to the outside on lap 11. This catapulted him into the lead and he maintained his advantage through multiple late-race cautions, holding off Mac Hannan, Jr. and Ray Dinsmore for his first career victory at Wiscasset Speedway after competing at the track for several years in various divisions.

James Osmond was on a mission in the Wicked Good Vintage Racers Early Late Model division, making his way from dead-last to second in the opening laps of the race. He briefly fell back, but returned to challenge Doug Laleme for the top spot just before halfway. The two drivers put on a heated side-by-side battle for the better half of the race, but Osmond broke free on the final lap, securing the victory. Norm Judkins rounded out the top 3. Veteran Addison Bowie went door-to-door with youngin’ Adrian Williams in the Hobby feature, but Bowie got the upper hand and pulled away, scoring the victory. Dave Brennen and Adrian Williams completed the top 3.

Gavin Gerow jumped out to a measurable lead in the opening laps of the Roadrunners feature. Meanwhile, defending champion Kyle Enman was working his way through the field and entered the frame in the closing laps of the race, cracking the top 3 on lap 17. He used a lap car to propel himself in front of Karigan Glasier with 4 laps to go, but Gavin Gerow was too far gone at the front of the field. Gerow successfully captured his first career victory while Kyle Enman and Karigan Glasier completed the podium.

Following some early-race chaos in the Late Model feature, Brett Osmond settled into the top spot, but Jon Emerson was waiting in the wings for his opportunity to strike. Emerson made his way to Osmond’s door on lap 7 and the two drivers went toe-to-toe for a handful of laps before Emerson claimed the top spot. Tiger Colby was also on a mission, breaking the top 3 on lap 12 before quickly overtaking the runner-up spot. He continued to work his way through the field, knocking on Emerson’s door on lap 19 before claiming the top spot at halfway. He maintained command from there, capturing the victory while Jon Emerson and Daniel Harding rounded out the podium.
With another full event successfully in the books, Wiscasset Speedway hopes to keep the momentum rolling into the next Group 1 program on Saturday, Juy 12th. The green flag flies at 5:00 pm.
